Mr Larminie appointed as headteacher
Posted 4th May
Message from Jo Lockwood, Chair of Governors:
I am delighted to share with you that, following the conclusion of the recruitment process for a Headteacher at The Mandeville School, we have offered the role to Matthew Larminie, who has accepted the position with effect from Tuesday 4th May 2021.
Matthew has been a credit to the school in the time since he took the leadership on an interim basis in July last year and we look forward to him continuing the great work he and all the staff have started.
As a Governing Board, we would like to take the opportunity to thank Matthew for his leadership since July and wish him all the very best for his future at The Mandeville School.
Message from Mr Larminie:
Since arriving as Interim Headteacher in July, I have begun significant changes at Mandeville while leading the school through unprecedented times resulting from the pandemic. It is my hope, as the pandemic subsides in the UK, that the next few months will give us more time to focus on building a strong future for the school.
My fundamental goal is that students will flourish here. For me, flourishing means developing successfully in both academic and non-academic ways because of the environment around you.
The school will become a place where students achieve great things, including a significant improvement in GCSE, vocational, and A-Level performance. Yet, the school will not measure achievement only through exam results, it will also do this through the kind of people our students become.
Equally, we will focus on providing students with opportunities to experience life to the full, through extra-curricular clubs and events, through opportunities in school, and through the quality of our curriculum.
I look forward to continuing to serve the school and its community.
