country and Highway Code.

Information Evening - 26th April 2017 (To Be Confirmed)

Parents of our D of E Award participants are also invited to attend a Student and Parents' Information Evening on 26th April 2017 at which representatives from Ocean Rock Adventure will introduce themselves and provide an overview of how the expedition process works. This will give parents and students an opportunity to ask any questions they may have.

Practice and Assessed Expeditions

Information has been released to parents and students regarding dates and locations for both the practice and assessed/qualifying expeditions taking place later this year. Please refer to the individual 'Bronze', 'Silver' and 'Gold' sections for expedition information specific to each level of award.

Update: Dec 2016

Following the successful launch of D of E at The Mandeville School, our young people are now in the process of completing activities for their Volunteering, Physical & Skills sections. The students will be working on these sections for between 3 – 18 months, depending upon whether they are working towards their Bronze, Silver or Gold Award.

Weekly training sessions are now in full swing on Tuesday afternoons and all participants have an eDofE (online) account where they can collect information about their chosen activities as well as photographs, comments and assessors reports for each of the awards sections.

We are currently in the process of fundraising to purchase equipment to support the expedition section of the D of E  scheme. All award levels will need to complete a practice and qualifying expedition and these expeditions will vary in length depending on the level that the students are working towards.

Our first fundraising event will be the Quiz Night which will now take place in March; please keep an eye out for information about this event and other fundraising events to support the D of E students.

The expedition season is fast approaching, so Christmas is a perfect opportunity to give your young person a genuinely useful gift or take them to spend their Christmas pennies at an outdoor shop, don’t forget to take your D of E reward card!
