Summary

(KS3 Curriculum information published January 2016 and is subject to change)

Key Stage 3 - Years 7, 8 (and 9)

Students study RS with a focus on Philosophy and Ethics throughout Key Stage 3 and can continue into Key Stage 4 should they wish to do so.  We aim to encourage students to reflect on and develop their own values, opinions and attitudes through the exploration of religions and beliefs.  Lessons centre around fundamental questions such as "what makes a religion a religion?" and "do people always do the right thing because it's morally right?"  Students also develop their literacy skills by articulating their thoughts and points of view in both spoken and written formats.  They learn to be empathetic and understand that people have different points of view and beliefs to theirs.
